The Traveller, a Masonic Journey Happy to Meet,
          Sorry to Part

An article covering many subjects and created for your pleasure.

The Traveller is back after a one-year absence.
by  V.W.Bro. Ted Morris

Will Rogers ( “Brother” Will Rogers, that is ) used to say, “All I know is what I read in the papers”. Like Will, I pick up my best stories from outside sources too. The intriguing tales are usually told over tea after lodge. when the fellowship is too warm to call off. The interesting thing is that the brethren don’t know what great stories they have, until they start reminiscing. That’s how I found out about the entered apprentice in Red Lake who came back with a bulldozer after he had been initiated and knocked down the lodge: or the miller the invading forces tried to hang three times in Waterford but didn’t success because he was a Mason.

My dog-eared “Blue Book” is definitely out of date, but it is still my guide. It has locations, meeting nights, and a few phone numbers so that wherever I am in Ontario I have some place to go and someone to chat with. In all my visits, I have never had a dull night.

I’m on the road again this year, visiting for the fun of it, and when I hear a new story I’ll pass it on to you. It may not be totally factual. Folk stories tend to bend over time. But they are honest as the brethren who give them to me and as reliable as my memory when I repeat them.

So correct me when I am wrong, and add whatever you want to these stories.

Here is my first installment for a new season of the Traveller.

Happy to meet again
